It's a question we've all asked ourselves at least once before.

"What's better, BB cream or foundation?" We might have the answers you're looking for!

If you're looking for a product that lasts all day and offers medium to full coverage, then foundation is probably your best bet. Most Beauty Balm (BB) creams on the market provide light coverage and usually only have enough pigment to gently cover redness. The great thing about foundations, is that you can build up the coverage to your desired opacity. That is something that is definitely too hard to achieve with a BB.  So, if you're after a long lasting full coverage product, then this one is a no brainer. Foundation takes the cake (no pun intended) in this category. Zeny's pick for a great stay all day foundation is NARS Sheer Glow. Click on the image below to shop.

If you are after something hydrating and overall better for the skin, you might want to opt for a BB cream. Why? Well in most cases BB creams are much more lightweight and contain more moisture that your skin will appreciate as opposed to a foundations. Makeup with SPF 30 is often a good choice, however a great deal of foundations contain SPF 15, which might not offer sufficient protection for some skin types. We sourced a BB cream with a SPF level of 50! Click on the image above to shop.

For those of you who prefer BB cream over foundation, it's pretty hard to find a good one with a large shade selection. Whereas there are a lot of brands that stock foundation with over twenty shades to choose from. It's usually harder for those with really light or deep skin tones to source their colour when it comes to face makeup. If you're someone who has trouble finding your shade, try going into a place like MECCA to get a free colour match. If not, we have found a few foundations that have a large colour range. Take for instance the Urban Decay All Nighter Liquid Foundation or the MAC Studio Fix Fluid both provide a selection with twenty colours or more. Unfortunately, most brands that make BB creams, make them in light, medium and dark. We found a line of BB creams that has 7 shades to choose from! Try out the Smashbox Camera Ready BB cream!

It's hard to tell, only because they're both really great. If you're looking for something you can wear everyday, then BB cream is a winner. But if you prefer a fuller coverage and a longer lasting makeup in general, then foundation is your pick! It truly is a battle based on personal preference.
